About the Artist

My artistic journey began at the end of 2021 as a personal experiment. Armed with just a pencil, a piece of paper, and online tutorials, I taught myself the fundamentals of drawing from scratch. Throughout 2022, I continued my independent training by diving into acrylic painting, utilizing digital video resources to learn layering and color application on my own. When I shared these early works with my loved ones, their immense encouragement became the exact catalyst I needed to keep experimenting and pushing my boundaries.

Seeking to expand my artistic toolkit, I transitioned into formal studio classes in 2024. Over the next two years, I immersed myself in diverse disciplines, gathering distinct techniques from drawing, life drawing, painting and printmaking classes. This period of study completely transformed my practice, giving me a rich, multi-disciplinary toolkit to express my ideas.

Current Mediums & Explorations

My website serves as a gallery for these ongoing material studies. Right now, my work is focused on three main creative paths:

  • Form & Precision (Drawing): Working with graphite, charcoal, and conté allows me to focus on the core fundamentals of drawing. These pieces are an exploration of light and shadow, using deliberate lines and tonal values to study structural form and anatomy.

  • The Process of Print (Printmaking): My printmaking practice is a rewarding balance of manual craftsmanship and machine work. I combine the deeply tactile process of carving linocuts by hand with the precise, multi-layered technique of screen printing, utilizing specialized equipment to pull rich, clean impressions.

  • The Dynamics of Paint (Painting): This work is all about exploring how different paint mediums behave and interact. I move between the transparent fluidity of watercolor, the rich opacity of gouache, and the layering versatility of acrylics to experiment with color application and visual depth.
